Springtime care of daylilies

Bloom is around the corner!

  • Remove excess winter mulch upon the first signs of spring growth.
  • Ensure a spectacular display of color by applying a well balanced (10-10-10) fertilizer to your daylilies at the first signs of growth as well.
  • Remove weeds as needed.
  • Begin watering as needed, remembering to give your daylilies a deep, rather than shallow, watering.
  • Monitor plants for unwanted pests, like snails and slugs.
  • Plant, dig, and divide daylilies as needed.
  • Apply a well-balanced fertilizer to freshly planted daylilies.
