You will receive freshly dug, cleaned and tagged iris. Summer is the time for digging iris. We begin shipping in July. The iris you order will have been out of the ground for approximately three weeks, from the time they are dug, trimmed, cleaned, tagged, packed and delivered to your doorstep (or mailbox). In that time, the foliage and roots can begin to dry out or turn brown. This is not a concern. Bearded iris are very resilient. The dryness is merely superficial. The health of the plant is not affected adversely. Simply plant the iris very soon after you receive them and water in well. You will begin to see new foliage grow within a couple of weeks of proper care.
Here's a short video which explains what the iris will look like when we ship them out from our farm to you in the summer.
We do export Iris overseas, but these shipments also require additional expenses for shipping and inspection. Please contact Alison, at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you're interested in placing an overseas order, for terms that are specific to your country. Our minimum overseas order is $100.00.
Shipping overseas has recently become more erratic because of varying interpretations of regulations in different countries. Therefore it is difficult for us to ensure that your parcel of Iris will be delivered. Because of this, Schreiner's Iris Gardens will no longer be responsible for and will not make reimbursement or replacement for parcels delayed, destroyed or returned to us without legitimate cause. If it is our error that causes the problem, we will take full responsibility for it and take the necessary steps to make it right.
Our shipping seasons runs from mid-July through mid-September. You may request that your plants be shipped before or after a certain date. Although we make every attempt to satisfy these requests, we reserve the right to make adjustments. Please note that plant orders ship from our farm approximately two weeks after we process your order. Shipping via ground carrier can take 7 to 10 days for delivery.
