The 2026 Bloom Season Poster Contest invites artists to capture the magic of our century-old iris farm in original 2D artwork. The winning piece will become our official poster, be proudly displayed during our May 2026 Bloom Season Event, and reproduced across promotional materials. We look forward to discovering your creative vision inspired by Schreiner's Gardens, irises and the spirit of Bloom Season.
Our Annual Poster Contest is an open call for artists ages 16+ who live in the United States.
We invite artists to submit original 2D artwork that celebrates the beauty, history and legacy of Schreiner's Gardens during the May Bloom Season. Artwork should draw inspiration from our gardens, our irises and the vibrant spirit of Bloom Season - whether expressed through illustration, painting, digital art, or mixed media. We're looking for pieces that capture the essence of Schreiner's Gardens in a fresh, creative and expressive way - work that invites the viewer to step into our fields or gardens and feel the magic of Bloom Season. Submissions must be entirely original and should not include the Schreiner's Gardens logo, as this will be added later during poster design. To ensure eligibility, artwork must avoid copyrighted characters, fonts or imagery.
Artists may submit one piece of original artwork for consideration, and all entries must be submitted digitally by January 31, 2026. To enter the 2026 Bloom Season Poster Contest, email your submission to socialmedia@schreinersgardens.com with the Subject Line: 2026 Poster Contest Submission_First Name_Last Name. In your email, include your Full Name, Email Address, Phone Number, City/State/Zip Code, the Title Of Your Submission, the Medium used, and a short Artist Bio (100-200 words), which will be displayed if your piece is selected. A Schreiner Family Review Committee will evaluate all entries and select one winning piece to become the official 2026 Bloom Season Poster. The winner will be notified privately, with public announcement to follow at a later date. The winning artist must provide the original finished artwork, fully framed and ready to hang with appropriate hardware, for display during the 2026 Bloom Season Event. The original artwork must be delivered to Schreiner's Gardens, 3625 Quinaby Road NE, Salem, OR 97303 by April 10, 2026.
Renowned as an international "bucket list" experience for gardeners and flower enthusiasts, this annual event invites the public to immerse themselves in the beauty and splendor of over 500 named irises in full bloom at the largest iris farm in the country.
Ticket holders are invited to wander through iris fields, stroll the 10-acre display gardens, and enjoy local food, wine and other vendors throughout the month of May.
By entering, the artist grants Schreiner's Gardens non-exclusive rights to reproduce the image for promotional use (posters, social media, merchandise). Artist retains copyright.
Artists may submit one piece for consideration. All submissions are due digitally by January 31, 2026.
