Some Iris varieties have strong similarities. It’s a safe bet that nothing looks like Desert Moth. What an exotic, mysterious winsome vision. A more unlikely combination of falls and standards…well, nothing can beat it. The thing is, it’s so remarkably beautiful one wants to keep looking at it. Standards are tightly closed and plunge into portentous and theatrical darkness at the bottom. Per hybridizer Keppel, the standards are coffee tan, shading to old heliotrope, then to amethyst at the base. The falls are amber yellow, paling slightly near the beard, which start out golden in the throat becoming rusty orange at end.
